Richard Pye, known fondly as Atti, is a proud Kenyan citizen hailing from the vibrant city of Mombasa. Fluent in both Kiswahili and English, Atti was immersed in the realms of conservation and tourism from an early age, shaping his deep-rooted connection to the African wilderness. He pursued his education in Kenya and South Africa, culminating in a remarkable achievement of graduating with degrees in Archaeology and Anthropology from the esteemed University of Cape Town.

Atti's affinity for the African bush has been a lifelong journey, as he has grown up surrounded by naturalists, conservationists, and scientists. This unique upbringing has cultivated a deep reservoir of knowledge about East Africa, encompassing its vibrant history, diverse traditions, and intricate tapestry of its captivating fauna and flora. His extensive repertoire includes infrastructure development, where he has contributed to the creation of lodges, camps, and road networks. As a consummate professional, Atti has thrived as a guide, host, and manager in the realm of hospitality. In addition to his remarkable achievements, he has devoted himself to critical endeavors such as Wild dog research, conservation management, and the establishment of protected wildlife areas.

When asked about his happiest moments, Atti's answer resonates deeply: "On a lightweight walking safari through the African Bush, sitting under the stars next to a campfire in the middle of nowhere, hearing the enchanting sounds of Africa." This profound connection to nature has been ingrained in his being since his formative years.

In 2021, Atti received a prestigious honor as he was inducted as an Honorary Warden for the esteemed Kenya Wildlife Service. This distinction recognizes his remarkable contributions and empowers him to make a lasting and meaningful impact on conservation efforts and the well-being of local communities within his sphere of operations.
